Student Initiated Poetry Slam December 2007
Community patron Rick Lepore recites "The Lovely Rivers of Maine" that he learned while thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Dr. Gillette, reads his own poetry.

The students of the LCCC Debate Club approached the Library about sponsoring a Poetry Slam. The Library agreed to keep the doors open, and the students did everything else...promotion, food, art show, set-up, clean-up, and even writing this blog. It's true. This is a student typing on Ms. Lepore's beautiful Mac. The night was filled with verse both composed and ripped off by students. There was hardly a moment that passed where someone wasn't spouting art into the air. Even the Library Director Jim Morris shared his soon to be published poetry, including "Barbie and the Bear."
